Hard to say... tending still in question, but D seem to collectively be better and are producing as well to offset some of that.

Vancouver beat the cup champs in their own building and have now won 4 in a row for the first time in a couple of years.

Travis Green refuses to put Hughes on the 1st PP unit, despite Hughes clearly showing he is the Canucks best offensive defenseman, and the Canucks powerplay languishing at 16% and 23rd overall in the league. Edler gets all his shots blocked and never sets up Pettersson or Boeser.

Hughes has no chance at the Calder without 1st unit PP time.

What is up with John Carlson? 18 points in 10 games is a pace no defenseman has ever done. It's early, but there's only two names that have achieved that kind of pace. Orr and Coffey and this isn't the 1980s.

That pick is likely to be a lottery pick and it could be a lottery pick the following year as well is the pick is deferred. I guess Jim knows his ass is grass if the Canucks don't make the playoffs yet again so he is making some desperation type moves.

When the Canucks don't make the playoffs next year, he will be gone.
It's early yet, but so far Dim Jim's team is doing pretty good - 7th in league standings, 11th in goals for and 2 2nd in goals against. Myers is paying off, and Hughes looking elite. Our defence is far from awful. Miller trade looking alright too, as he already has 10 points in 9 games.

It's funny hearing hockey analysts and fans saying that Pettersson is struggling. He's over a point a game and the team is scoring lots of goals. Can't wait til he gets things going.

Hot start for the Oilers.

Only one of their 35 goals has come from the bottom 6 forwards though. Mcdavid and Drai are going to do their thing, but they need to pick up some production from the depth players to carry through a slowdown from the big guns.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dale Hawerchuk and his family as he battles stomach cancer. I know going through my own battle with colon cancer right now it's a tough fight ahead but if anyone can beat it it's ducky!
