The project is a 466-bed private student housing development 2 blocks from the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. The half-acre, high-density site will consist of studio, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom apartments ranging from 554 square feet to 1,546 square feet. The 466 beds will be housed in a 16-story high-rise structure with 4 levels of parking below grade. The property will contain 167,437 square feet of rentable space.
That sounds so weird to me, the 466 beds will be housed in a 16 story highrise. I guess they are saying there is a max occupancy of 466 beds. What happens if you get caught sneaking in a bed. Maybe because I never went to a college where you could live in a college dorm, I automatically think hospital when a bed count is mentioned. In order to squeeze 466 beds into 16 floors, I'm assuming there will be multiple beds per room?

According to the building permit there are 166 units. So that would mean an average of 3 beds in most units.

These operate essentially as dorms with much higher security. You know what dorms look like, right?
Nice updates as always Urbannizer. Those photos are of Skyloft, but I see you posted them in that thread as well. It's hard to keep up with West Campus projects, so hardly anyone would notice.
The 2nd picture is the progress on Aspen West Campus, the first one is that of Skyloft.
Yes. You're right. West Campus is confusing. There are some permits where both Skyloft and the new 22 West Residential project were using 2200 Nueces as the address.
It's a race! As this and Skyloft are both being built by JE Dunn I'm sure there is some friendly internal competition going on. This sure is great for West Campus (and for Austin). Just this many more students walking to school vs. driving/commuting in from other parts of town.
When is it time to update UNO? Expand the territory? Adjust the height limits? Reduce the parking requirements? What else?
