Too bad a lot of them have been canceled!
That list is still nice though.

Sorry my friend, you are wrong. I did not include the projects which have been cancelled (except for Vision).

The list is still current, even though over one year has passed.

Of course, that was assuming something that you really cannot, which is that the % growth would stay the same. Sorry to burst your bubble my friend but Melbourne is currently Australia's fastest growing city expanding by around 100,000 per year and now beyond the 4,000,000 mark!

At this rate Brisbane will never surpass Melbourne but Melbourne may well supass Sydney to again be the country's most populous city in as short a time period as a decade or so.

GREAT!! My late mum was born in Melbourne, and I feel a kinship with that city, even though I'm a Canuck, and have never had the money to visit Australia.

A question, though .... will Melbourne also surpass Sydney in financial clout? Or will Sydney remain the top town regardless? Just wondering.

Melbourne will become the economy hub of australia, with all the business going there instead of sydney. Melbourne grows by about 100,000 a year, in a few more years experts say it might be 120,000 (10,000 a month) sydney has a height limit of 275m, so it can't catch up to melbourne. Melbourne also has a 298m building currently under construction and over 50 projects over 150m.

So, melbourne will surpass sydney in almost everything.

in 2050 the population of the cities will be:
Melbourne - close to 8 million
Sydney - 7.6 million
Brisbane - close to 5 million
Perth - 4.2 million
Adelaide - 1.8 million

some sketches of Melbourne in the future

i think the last one is quite funny

Melbourne still has almost double the amount of Queensland and has actually expanded much quicker than Modern Australia as compared with existing decades.

Woods Bagot Unveils Towers in Perth's City Link District

Quote:
Kings Square is composed of two towers soaring 42 and 48 levels above a podium that is four to six floors tall, rising up to 162 metres above ground level. Adjacent to a park, the podium's curves intend to help the building flow into its surroundings and create a sense of human scale that contrasts with the height, while also creating a rupture with the other adjacent hard-angled buildings. To further integrate the project as part of the city landscape, the undulating structure will be covered in limestone, which is found deep underneath Perth, constituting its geological base.
