The IMD has a megadevelopment in the works, but nothing final. They plan to take advantage of being located in an Opportunity Zone. With how much money the United Center has been losing, I won't be surprised if they sold their lots for a redevelopment project
I always thought the people who own United Center should've tried to create their version of the Ballpark Village that is next to Busch Stadium in St. Louis. It would've been cool to see entertainment venues, one or two hotels, restaurants/food hall, maybe one or two condo high rise buildings, a movie theater, and even a casino all built around United Center. A new pink line station could be built at Ogden and Monroe.

I would love for something like that to sprout up around the United Center.

Halloween surprise (not really): I just noticed that Google maps 3D has been updated to within the past year or so; lots of current or recently completed buildings now show up, including a topped-out Vista.

[Edit: Ignore this comment - it was meant to be posted in the BMO building thread]

It is funny because the reason I don't like this building is because it resembles 110 N Wacker so much. However, if I were to ignore the time of construction and the height, I actually like the geometry of this building more.

401 N. Racine

Reminds me of the unbuilt X/O from the South Loop 15 years ago.

Yes, but this is a much better design.

The developer in charge of this project has not been revealed, and the design is currently in the works.
It seemed odd to me that the designer and preliminary design would be revealed without a developer, so I did some googling.

This design is on PALMA's website listed as a "concept design" dated 2018, in an "undisclosed location".

Other designs on their website with similar listings are this Hyde Park residential I've never heard of, this interlocking-ring HQ building, and this tower that builds itself in the ocean?

Are we sure this is a real thing?

Good catch! This is great news because the last time they updated anything wasn't that long ago (the buildings matched where they were in September 2018), so it looks like they're putting more effort into updates now. Before THAT, everything was stuck in 2013 land for at least five-six years.

The V-bracing at the time makes it seem like an upside-down version of the BMO tower ha

Chicago Yimby is saying it's an 'exclusive' reveal, so perhaps they know more than they're letting on , even though the developer hasn't been revealed yet, which is definitely weird.

They done something like this a couple months ago for artistic renderings of two 600+ footers in West Loop. A forum member then brought up that they were from a draft illustration book, and weren't serious proposals
