That apple roof looks worse than the jimmy butler trade. Haha. Sorry, needed to sneak that in.

Was it known that the Apple Store would look like a MacBook?

Rooftop signage was not indicated in the PD Amendment. And DNAInfo says the Apple logo was only there for an hour on Thursday, so maybe it was just a marketing stunt. Blair Kamin tweeted Saturday: "Apple [says] test of paper cutout logo on the roof of our new store in Chicago was intended to assess possible color, size and placement."

Completely disagree, the scaffolding is just now going to come down enough to really showcase the cantilever. Also the dead on view across the plaza is not yet possible due to the construction barriers and all the crap they have piled up for staging. Can't wait for this to be complete.

Not when walking around it. Even with the construction detritus surrounding it.
Like LVDW says, when the scaffolding comes down, it is going to be a "OHHHH!! AHHHHH!!!" moment.

In fact, Da Jool there is having its grand opening on Wednesday. (To celebrate, they're doubling down on their insultingly stupid and lazy longtime logo -- "hmm, bold, underline, italic, wow, lets keep this for a century" -- with a klutzy and inane new mascot named Jojo that looks like a committee kept flipping coins and couldn't decide whether to knock off Minions or Sesame Street. If ever there was a company that should move its HQ downtown and ditch its rusting suburban employees it's this one.)

Are they still planning on lining the underside of the eaves with wood?

Nice photo, I was on the riverwalk this weekend. I couldn't help but notice how many river boats were out and virtually all of them packed.
