I have to admit that I first heard that used regarding DC a couple of decades ago. But fortunately, these days there are plenty of 'em to go around.

FMC has created a new company called FMC Minerals and they have leased another floor of office space in the soon to be FMC Tower for a total of 275,000 sq feet of office space, up from 235,000.

The article claims that the building will be completed by June 2016, which means construction is probably still on schedule to start this Spring if they expect to be done by summer two years later.

Walked by there two days ago. Nothing noteworthy to take pics of yet. They cleared off the site because they were using it as a staging site for Evo and they moved around some dirt. Nothing substantial yet. Foundation work probably won't begin until the end of this month or early April.

I'll also add that they had two mobile concrete pumps on site that weren't there before.

Site prep for FMC will take place starting in May. The concrete trucks were for the garage expansion that should have a crane going up shortly in the pit that FMC will go so they can erect steel on top of the garage.

Interesting. Which means they'll probably start FMC Tower once steel is done on the garage. How many more floors are they adding?

Great photos everyone! I am so liking this façade
It looks like we're getting near the "slant', "slope"?
Is it about ready to top out?

** I just went back to the first page of this thread, and I noticed the date "August 31st 2007??? Has it really been almost 7 years? It doesn't feel that long ago!?

Lot's of activity today. The construction crane has been moving almost non stop all morning. Hard to see any progress except a little bit on the left top side.

I walked by the FMC site this morning. They look to be putting together a mobile red crane. I assume they will be using this for construction of the park space on the garage roof?

I thought they are adding few more levels to the garage before they start the park. Plus I don't think park can be used until FMC is done, too dangerous and too close to construction... Can't wait for FMC to actually start!!!!
