Those are the most beautiful "closed" signs I've ever seen.

Absolutely, those are clearly heritage palm trees, easily as old as the Treaty Oak. We could probably organize a group of volunteers with trowels and butter knives to dig them up and transplant them in Syndic's front yard.

Save the closed signs, too - we'll need them for that first floor museum. Cultural art and all, painted by locals.

We do have a palm tree out front that is around 55 years old. I'd be genuinely bummed out to see it go away. I am a bit worried actually, because they're planning sidewalks on our street, and I'm not sure there's enough room without the sidewalk hugging the curb to go around it. The house next door also has two of them out front. They were planted by the developer of the neighborhood around 1960. My family has been in this house since 1965, and we have photos of it when it was less than 4 feet tall. It's 30 feet tall now.

It looks like it was a play on Kevin's wording in the previous post, where it's linguistically ambiguous as to whether the "4 ft" refers to the house or the tree. Of course it's obvious in context but... you know, some people can't resist word play.

2WM4 does not comprehend such word play.

I think you meant to say "2WM4 does not comprehend such word play, bless his heart."

I noticed a Heart of Texas Demolition sign at the site the other day.

This is your last chance to save those beautiful palm trees.

Wouldn't that be trespassing?

Heart of Texas Demo, my friends, has got to be one of the biggest winners of the Austin boom. They seem to handle a lot of sites...

That depends on if he's fully on the sidewalk or has one foot in the parking lot, haha.
