I like the DNA strand design. The double helix pathway is a nice touch for the project.

A doubly twisty tower(s) would have been much much much more appropriate.

I was thinking double helix DNA strands for the crosswalks like in the rendering but 6 single RNA strand towers instead of those mid rises, and a small park with a cardiovascular pump waterfall at the end of the double helix DNA pathway.

The UT System bought 300 acres near Buffalo Pt (about 3 miles S of the TMC) for a massive research center.

I see some activity next door to Hanover residential tower in Blvd Place. Construction crew has been parking there and maybe they are doing soil testing? I believe the plan is to have a hotel/residential high rise on that spot.

Sweet! Great to hear something is going on there. Here's the site plan for BLVD Place -- I assume it's the area in the center along Post Oak Lane? Any pics of the activity?

The Annex

5-Story Student Housing Project for UH. Leasing office for Campus Vue is currently on site so work may not begin until construction on that project wraps up.

Located a block from the University of Houston campus, this 147 bed project has the scale of a boutique hotel. Sharing amenities with the adjacent project allowed freedom in the design. The Annex makes use of the small footprint by stacking three stories of wood frame over two stories of parking. Unit types include efficiency and micro units to maximize the use of the space with convertible furniture - beds fold up behind the sofa and movable partitions allow students greater flexibility with the space.

It looks like Houston always have a lot of construction going on. I watch a few office tower being built in the late 70s and early 80s.

When you fly into Houston it looks like 7 different cities.

A new building could be residential or office, but there are no immediate development plans.

"It's not the right time," said Philip Schneidau, president of BMS Management.

From Montrose Management District website New Redevelopment Project Planned for East Montrose by Ray Lawrence | November 17, 2015

Quote:
...Fred Sharifi, founder of SFT Investments, is planning an impressive new project, redeveloping a number of nearby commercial properties with new retail, office parking space. He is hoping to bring in some daytime activities to balance out the area’s evening crowd. The preliminary site plan (above) and three-dimensional concept (below) show the existing restaurant/bar buildings (A and B) and the prospective new structures in the early stages of the new concept. Fairview runs east and west through the center with north/south streets Morgan, Taft, Mason and Genesee depicted from left to right.
