Geographically, culturally, politically, economically JAX shares similarities with Southern US cities more so than it does with Central or South Florida. JAX, in my view, is more connected with the Georgia coastal areas than say, anything south of St Augustine.
If N. Florida were “annexed” into Georgia, Florida would remain and not loose its overall identity and neither would JAX. JAX is truly one of those peculiar places that sits outside the definition of its location.
