Smile San Francisco (Chinatown and Nob Hill)

In the next thread, I show you some pictures of San Francisco´s Chinatown and Nob Hill.

We enjoyed very much this walk along Chinatown, a wonderful and quaint neighbourhood and Nob Hill, very pretty too. We liked very much to climb the hills to discover, at every step, a more spectacular place to visit.

Hope you enjoy...

Chinatown Gateway. Also called "Dragoon Gate", is the south entrance to Chinatown.

A shop in Grant avenue.

St Mary´s square.

Old St Mary´s Cathedral.

Grant avenue corner California street.

A view of California street. In the background you can see the Bay Bridge.

Colorful shops and streets.

Chinese Cultural Center.

Tien Hau Temple.

A view of Coit tower from Tien Hau Temple.

Chinatown alleys.

A view of Transamerica Pyramid from Chinatown.

A curious small car in Chinatown.

A grocery in Chinatown.

Cable Car Museum. 1201 Mason street. Located in the historic Washington/Mason cable car barn and powerhouse. We liked and enjoyed it very much.

The museum houses three antique cable cars from the 1870s.

The huge engines and winding wheels that pull the cables under the streets. Amazing!

The Fairmont San Francisco. Nob Hill.

A large historic mansion in front of Huntington Park.

Grace Cathedral.

One of the doors of this beautiful cathedral in Nob Hill.

Huntington Park.

Thanks for looking....

Thank you very much, Nineties Flava!

The best way to know a city well is walking and walking, like we did.

If we had had enough time, we would have visited Oakland too. Well, next time.

If you visit the area again before summer of next year, let me know... I'd be more than happy to show you around town.

Nice pictures! I remember much of those Chinatown scenes well. I never made it to Nob Hill, so it's good to see what that place looks like.
