Maybe someone from the area can answer this: isn't Birmingham or the surrounding area the setting for "Keeping Up Appearances"? It's my favorite British comedy. In the show, the characters talk about being in the Midlands, and all I can figure is that it's somewhere around Birmingham.

I visited in 1978 during a visit with my Dad, who was living in London for a few years with his job.

Some maths done the other day make the skyline over 2 miles long, and obviously growing all the time with a few 150m+ starting in 2007 and a few more 100m+.

This city can potentialy get a very good skyline,
with some 100m and 150m+'s.
Would love to visit then.

Yep. Its got fantastic potential as it's also located on a limestone ridge which elevates the city.

Towers due to start construction in 2007/08 include

*Broad Street Tower 132m (Spring 07) approved
*Arena Square Tower 175m (Autumn 07) approved
*The Pinnacle 176m (Spring 07) proposed
http://www.rocinternationaltowers.com/
*Snow Hill Towers 140m & 90m (Winter 07) Proposed
*Martineau Galleries Towers 110m, 80m, 90m (Winter07/08) Proposed
*New Street Station Twin Towers 130-180m (2008) proposed

And a few treats still to come. These are just the biggest ones towers alot of skyline fillers are also u/c,proposed and approved including what could be Birminghams biggest architectural feat since Selfridges in a 69m Cube from the designer of London's Swiss Re (Gherkin)
