71/72 puts it right at the top of that middle segment. 8000 sq ft means it is probably the whole roof, right? That's a lot of space.

The Bezos speculation reminds me of that Parks & Recreation episode where Tom thinks a number of high-profile celebrities (Jay Z, Jason Statham, Lebron James) are potentially trying to buy Rent-a-Swag. The buyer for this unit is probably a no-name CEO of a private equity firm that only industry diehards know.

Mods, please feel free to move this comment to the pop culture / finance thread.

Lol nobody knows who bought it. I made a tongue in cheek comment about him as a joke. Not meant to be taken seriously.

^Nice shot of Vista (and OBP) from a real estate listing on the 76th floor of Aqua.
If we were to get only one more scraper under way this year wich would you choose?

I have to go with the spire redevelopment.

Glorious shot, it made my day!

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. That guy has been buying ridiculously expensive properties almost as a way to show people that he actually has the money, unlike a number of billionaires who are "on paper" billionaires.

I doubt it’s Griffin.

I think it’s Jeff Bezos. He needs a pad to hang out in and a place to park his second favorite Bugatti when he’s in town working at HQ2

8,000 square feet is enough room for a couple of helipads.

But in all seriousness - I think it's TUP who said this, but my money is also on it being the founder/CEO of some private company nobody's ever heard of who quietly has a bunch of money. Like Sanjay Shah of Vistex buying the Trump Tower penthouse for $17M. Probably similar.

There's no rule against rocket pads.

(more seriously, watch how quickly that rule would go away if HQ2 were at stake over it).

Taken today. The cranes always show up best in silhouette.

I never understood that rule. What is the reasoning behind it? Noise pollution? Anti terrorism? Preventing a daring prison yard escape at the roof of the Metropolitan Correctional Center?
