This is great for Denver! However, there is already a thread for this in the proposals section and this is technically not officially under construction until foundation work is starting.

Looks like an excavator and pile drivers for perimeter shoring and excavation, not foundation construction just yet.

The requirement for moving a project to the "construction" sub-forum is rebar/caisson installation and or concrete pour for foundation.

Correct me if I'm wrong and foundation work is underway.

It's clearly under construction now (from today 8/16/15):

The core is at street level.

1401 Lawrence is in the background with the 2010 built Four Seasons to the left.

From February 12 2016
Warm day for pouring concrete onto the project.

Lots of rising of the core in the last couple of months.

What's the use of the 1-story 50's building in the foreground of that last pic? Looks like a great re-development opportunity to me...

Oh, that's the Denver branch of the US Federal Reserve. It's an security-hardened building that does not interact with the streetscape at all and is even a little intimidating. It's definitely not a desirable thing to have in a busy pedestrianized shopping and tourism area, but apparently it would be difficult to have it relocated. All these years and nobody has ever proposed anything AFAIK. Still, I'd think a better home for it might be the federal gov. campus on the western side of the city, or out by the airport.

Don't you guys know that style is US Treasury Brutalist? Take a look at the current Philadelphia Mint from the same era.
