This is Chicago, where we have winters and frost heave. Out here in the burbs I see plenty of money wasted on fancy sidewalks. Nice brick, etc. Looks great for 1-2 years. Then winter takes its toll and it starts to warp and buckle. Looks far worse than concrete after that.
What's the point of this broke state throwing money away on vanity that doesn't last?
