Then it became as important not to look as to look, I feared I would be lost in rush of bronze motes."

Steve,

Just about every "area around/next to the station" is ekimae in Japanese. Tokyo station has three large districts surrounding it though. The place is so damn big it's hard to define. But generally, if you take the angle from that picture, the left side would be Nihonbashi. The right side would be Marunouchi (with spillover into Otemachi a couple blocks to the right).

check out Tokyo on Google Earth, itll scare you. You can also work out how Tokyo IS conjoined all the way to Osaka, via the coastal strip-Nagoya(which btw is HUGE)-Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe. I wonder what that population would be - 60 million in contiguous development? Jeez if Tokyo counted itself as a CSA it would be bigger than that even..

Just insane oh how big that city is. Pictures are one way, but to actually see it in person is a whole different story. Love the shots. You could see something new every day, if you lived there...

Thumbs up Awesome Pics!

This is my first time looking at pics of Tokyo. It is an awesome looking city and it looks easy to get lost there!

Tokyo always looks absolutely mental in aerial shots.

Great shots. I remember clearly the sense of awe I had when going to the observation deck of Tokyo city hall. Tokyo has to be seen from above to really appreciate its immense scale.
