If you had $20 and you were going to bet on the Super Bowl who would you pick?

Running out of development news to talk about in Fredericton are we??

To answer your question - it depends on how well inflated the footballs are.

Personally I think the Patriots are in tough against the Sea Hawks, but I wouldn't bet against them so I'm calling the Patriots in a squeeker.

I think I can handle maybe 1 or 2 more flakes. But that's about it.

Good stuff. You should post this in the weather thread on the Canada section.

The averge snow depth in my back yard is now over five feet. I've been attempting to keep my rear walkway open this winter with my snow blower, but it's reaching the point now where the discharge chute of the blower is no longer able to blow the snow over the top of the cutting. I may have to give up........

Cities: Skylines - Saint John

I started playing with Cities: Skylines, which is similar to Simcity, and has a decent map editor. I decided to try my hand at Saint John, and this is what I got so far...

Once I get the land, highways, rail lines, etc taken care of, then I can build the city.

Looks sharp!
For what it's worth to anyone wondering, Cities Skylines appears to be better than the last SimCity in... well just about every conceivable way.

It's only on Steam, but I believe it is on Linux Steam and Mac Steam as well as Windows.

And it is VERY moddable; it's got the Steamwork shop in the background for support, and people have been tossing a lot of things out. (New maps of regions, new buildings, new interchanges, as well as the way to upgrade 1 Lane roads to 2 Lane and back; something the game lacks the way to do directly).

I haven't had time to play it as much as I want to, but what little I have played, I've enjoyed more than the last Sim City. They've really picked up where EA dropped the ball.

Sure is. That's how I've been running it.

Very much so. I haven't done a lot of poking around with what's available yet, but if you check out the (reddit) page about it, you'll get a feel for what people have been doing. Apparently there's even a way to import Google Sketchup buildings into the game.

The only issue I have with the game so far is the traffic simulation isn't quite perfect. I've read that they're actively working to address it though. Basically, cars figure out the optimum route from their start to destination and follow it regardless of traffic conditions. You'll sometimes see a 6 lane road that's completely empty except for one lane that's backed up for kilometers.

Other than that, I have no issues at all. The game looks great. It runs well. It's got all the features you'd expect and then some.

Thanks guys. I might have to try it out. I'm an old SimCity junkie from way back, but haven't played the game for the last several years. The more recent iterations have been pretty crappy.

I find it really funny how many members of this forum are into city simulation games. I suppose it's to be expected though, since we are all frustrated amateur city planners.....
