Ha, I am still bummed about this one overall (although the redesign is better).
Seeing the two cores rise--makes you think of the possibilities. I would have loved something like the rendering below instead... which is a new building in Toronto. Say if one side was Aramark's (and taller), and the other side, luxury apartments -- which PMC does. Could've been a home run.

Now they need to replace a parking garage at Ludlow and 23rd. That would make a great place for a large tower. It would be just behind Aramark.

Sweet! But PMC would never. Heck, there's not may developers in Philadelphia that would pay for that quality work. Still think the best reasonable design for this site would have been a "right triangle" shaped building with the tall part along Chestnut and then sloping downward as it approaches Market (or vice versa). Gives the building height while still preserving views and of course, far more interesting than a fucking box.

I was talking to a friend over lunch and the city's eminent domain fight with an artist in Manuta came up. Was curious about what the plans are for that (giant) lot and looked it up. This is the latest I can find: https://www.philadelphiaredevelopmen...a-neighborhood

They've decided to build around Dupree's art studio and RFPs were due back in March, but no peep on the giant site since - has anyone heard anything on this or have an idea on when there might be an update?

I was unable to snap any pics, but the Trolley Portal Garden on 40th street is coming along nicely. The steel for the cafe is already up.

Wondering why the cores seem to be taller than the south end steel (north end is still incomplete)? Shows up in other angles as well..

^^ More fitting for Atlanta or Seattle ^^^^

However the Detail is much better here than the initial renderings which were truly horrifying.

Whoops I got this mixed up with Lincoln Square on Broad + Washington.

This project would serve Broad + Washington much much better than that awful metal box they are throwing up.

Here is a rendering of Lincoln Square. All the detail of a Joe + Lous courier service behind the airport. Unbelievable. courtesy biznow.
