Finally, one of the big downtown projects moves closer to reality. From the Ithaca Times (and a comment by a person none to pleased with the Tax Abatement):
Not only is the city of Ithaca looking at some zoning changes (see entry #268 above), but the Town of Ithaca (which surrounds the city) is also looking toward zoning changes (from the Ithaca Voice):
Finally a large project on East Hill by Cornell for graduate and professional students. This will probably have a big traffic impact on the Belle Sherman neighborhood in the city and East Ithaca area of the Town of Ithaca (from the Ithaca Voice):
A weekly update from the Ithacating blog including some of the politics involved with development (see article in the previous post). He also takes some of the local politicians to task (particularly Lansing). Brought a smile to my face.
Though I'd seen previous articles about this Cornell proposal, I never really gave it much thought. Looks like they might be serious about it. A new neighborhood not far from the Cornell campus. (from the Ithaca Voice):
