We've made great strides in my city in saving our abandoned historical structures but some still are waiting for a buyer.
Not the best shot of circa 1892 Lincoln school which has been in the news lately because the city of Rock Island needs to find a buyer, QUICK. They gave it a 2 month extention after a scheduled demolition but after that it will most likely be torn down. It's a nice example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. It's been empty since 1980. It was originally scheduled for demolition in 1984 but was made a historical landmark.....Of course, as you can see, that doesn't always save a structure.
