There’d be that, but in the end, it seemed that another truck was trying to pass the slow one after the passing lane ends

The middle truck? That is the Fed Ex truck that I was talking of.

I was attending a lunchtime virtual conference hosted by Nuclear Waste Management Organization on Deep Geologic Repository for nuclear waste.
One of the candidate sites is around Ignace.
I asked them if they’ve been in talk with MTO as the repository may impact where the 4 lanes of 17 can go.
It turns out that MTO sits on the interjurisdictional working group in the project already.

So, you assumed the waste would just magically appear? I am willing to bet that someone from CP and even CN is sitting on it too.

The MTO is probably on the working group because the spent nuclear fuel will have to be transported along their highway facilities, not specifically because the proposed site will directly impact their corridor.

It's not like there isn't tons of land around Ignace that whatever waste site would get built would impact a potential four-lane corridor.

Some of you (mostly @swimmer_spe) has been asking me about a new border crossing at Sault Sainte Marie, so I've finally drawn it out:
