hard to say....anything is possible, both good & bad. however, dtla has generally been historically one of the weaker urban areas in the country, certainly among the top cities of the US. That's why seeing what is going on in one of the historically stronger centers in america is a good comparison case.
I figure that if NYC is weathering the pandemic in a certain way, than dtla...which has been coming back after decades trapped in a recession....won't necessarily be much worse off....it already has been about as far down as any core could be.
The 2020 ghost town of manhattan has been hit by a lot of financial & political cross winds during Covid, as much as, if not more than, other cities have experienced. Because NYC has been famous for its crowding, I've read some say that has made it more vulnerable than always less crowded places have been. But if dtla can come back, so will other places...& visa versa....it's just a matter of time.
