I'm only repeating what Bloomie said, not vouching for it. But, I do feel very safe in NYC - at least, in the touristy sections.

that height was added a little over a year ago when CTBUH demanded that all buildings be measured from street level to the top of the superstructure (excluding spires, antennas etc.).through calculation from the new measurements 1373 is what we got. technicalloy 1,368 is correct and so is 1,373 it all depends on how your measuring.

This is probably of topic, but the new World Trade Center complex can be seen in the Modern Warfare 3 trailer (an under-attack lower manhattan)... good to know that the skyscraper world is getting attention

CTBUH decided that height should be measured from the lowest street level entrance even if it is not the main entrance. Because the Vesey Street side is a few feet lower than the other 3 sides they are measuring from there, thus the extra 5 feet.

And I'm glad the developers chose to leave the WTC untouched by smoke and explosions.

Hehe, stealing my ideas they are xD
I started a game quite a while ago with the new wtc complex in.
Here's a shot of it from quite a while back.

The city's not NY sized, but a smaller more compact version.

Back on topic, looks like the side elevator is coming down on the west side, and the next row of glass is half the way round. Cool beans.

I think that if it's stated that it has 1373 feet roof height, it should be stated that it has 1781 feet pinnacle height. It doesn't make sense to me why roof height and pinnacle height should be measured by two different standards.

Can I ask a nitpicky question?

Why is it that movie directors, and apparently video game designers, insist on showing skylines of cities under bombardment with big holes and fires burning in towers, as if they'd be structurally stable at that point? If the 9/11 attacks taught us anything it's that this particular type of post-disaster depiction is pretty far off.

These are the 3 buildings that I think should be knocked down in Lower Manhattan. They're way too bulky and boxy, and are destroying beautiful balance of architectural styles that this Lower Manhattan view would have otherwise have

Maybe they were hit just a few minutes before the video. Though it would be rather strange that so many buildings would be hit nearly simultaneously.

I don't recommend wishing for anything to be knocked down, as square or bulky as those towers may be.

But anyway, this recent video game featuring the WTC reminds me of a website I visited once, called "WTC in movies", go do a google search, it listed all the films that featured shots of the twin towers, and I think it would be a great idea if there was also a site or maybe a compiled list of all the places the new WTC already appears in pop culture.
