Love the new Blue Bomber stadium, a smaller version of CenturyLink Field the home of the Seattle Seahawks.

All images same link as last post.

The similarities are definitely right in your face. Kind of wish they went with a smooth arch over the wave. That's ok though, still a nice stadium.

I personally think it is the picture quality that degrades the look of the stadium. There is no definition to the lines of the stadium in these pictures.

IGF is a nice stadium for the budget and 33,000 + capacity, for a city of 700,000 + and it does have similarities to CenturyLink Field.

Winnipeg does not have a metro Population of ohhh 3,500,000+ as seattle does or the cost of constuction tabbed at 430$ million+, + a capacity of 70,000+..Did we get the poormans version for 190 million maybe..but it's all relevent to our metro size and the league we're involved in. Works for me taking all these points into context..It's gonna be a great place to catch a game or concert.

just drove past IG field. a small bit of west side exterior needs finishing(a few days would do it), the north-west corner is the last to be started(another few days it looks to finish up, the north-east corner took one day to complete the same work), major landscaping occuring right now(grading, sod, flower beds etc), metal railing is being finished up as well at wheel chair ramps and stairs. i cant wait to get inside

That's my section, not bad view! I'm about 10 rows further down.

Edit: Live cam is on right now under the lights. Field painted, looks great!

Looking real good. Can't wait to check out a game in the summer. Possibly McCartney as well.

I'm actually quite excited about this again, after all the crap we went through over the last 18 months. I can finally go to a Bomber game again!

My son started working in the Bomber office today. It is two stories and one floor isn't finished quite yet.

I always think to myself how weird that triangular shaped endzone section looks when I see a Seahawks game on tv. Interesting how so many people in Canada complain about taxpayer money being used to fund the construction of stadiums for professional sports teams in this country. I note on the Centurylink field website that of the total cost of $430 million for this stadium. $300 million of that was funded by taxpayer money. Lot's of US professional sports teams are subsidized by taxpayers too.

As someone who was in the Kingdome where the Seahawks used to play. Centurylink field was a stadium that Seattle had to build, because the Kingdome was an absolute piece of junk.

Same here, just seems weird.

With IG Field. I sure hope the wavy canopy doesn't create a wind tunnel effect coming from the east or west. Why wouldn't they just design it similar to Centurylink. One long arc instead of the waves. Just seems like there's a rather large opening at the top centre on each side.

Not possible, the end zones are North and South. NOT East-West. Google Earth it if you must, it is bang on North-South.

Sorry. I meaning more the canopy which is supposed to cover the stands. There is like a 40' high opening at the very top back of the grandstands, centred on the 55 yard line. Basically where the wave in the canopy is at its highest point. At Centurylink field, there is no opening. The canopy appears to connect to the top of the grandstands.

Seems like the wind can still get through quite easily at IG Field. More just an observation than anything. Still a great facility! And it is outdoors after all.

Here is an image that was posted with an article about the new stadium earlier today on the Free Press website.

The one thing that I noticed in this image is that you cannot see the corner of the end zone from that vantage point. I would assume that the identical seats in the other corners of the stadium would also have this issue. Not really a huge deal, but I figured that it would be something worth pointing out if it has not been pointed out by someone else already.
