Tokyo: 4D Cityscape Puzzle

For my birthday, I got a Tokyo Puzzle with skyscrapers. Interestingly, it was linked from the SkyscraperPage.com home page: http://4dcityscape.com/. They have a bunch of cities, but I wanted Tokyo first, for reasons that may become apparent in these pictures.

(Note: all pictures are mine)

My birthday present. Godzilla can't wait to get stomping. I hope he's patient, puzzles are not one of my hobbies. I have enough trouble with my kids' wooden puzzles: "No, Elmo goes here"

The bottom layer is a map from 1958 (4D=time). I got off to a good start, but it's kind of hard with 700 pieces of street grids. So I skipped ahead to the modern map, which would have all the skyscrapers.

And here's Tokyo!

Tokyo Tower stood out. This also gave me chance to play with my new lens (28-105mm 2.8-4 on my Nikon D2Hs)

Imperial Palace and Natl Diet Bldg

Shinjuku

Tokyo Sky Tree and Asakusa's 5-story pagoda (not quite to scale)

Who's waiting on the sidelines?

Tokyo has an infestation (in college, I collected Bandai Godzilla figurines)

Oh no, there goes Tokyo! Went macro on this one (85mm 1.8 lens)

Metropolitan Government Center, the buildings average about 1.5 inches tall.

Tried to match some shots from my November 2010 Trip to Tokyo

Darn, I didn't like them up perfectly. Guess I'll have to go back to Tokyo and take some more photos.

Here are the rest of my photos of the puzzle, including a familiar-looking skyscraper poster.

That's pretty interesting.
I just got a Toronto and New York puzzle. Will try to put it together but I have never been good with puzzles.

^^^^Same here, I just bought New York, my first 4D puzzle, in the store, and ordered the Tokyo one from Amazon!
