And with Trump as our leader we might kill everything else, too.

There is absolutely no correlation with the frequency of the word Trump in the news though, right?

Where is everyone anyway? Did they enact martial law?

Not yet, but we'll get there soon enough.

My preferred poison right now is gin and tonic. To be honest, I'm really not comfortable with the idea of coming home from work every night and drinking a gin and tonic just to relax.

I'll definitely be having some drinks tonight. it's my b-day so we got a sitter for the kids and my wife and i are headed out to one of our favorite local mexican spots.

i think some margaritas followed by a fine after dinner sipping tequila are in order.

Take transit/cabs

Also, fun(?) fact: You can be arrested for a DUI if you are riding a bike while intoxicated.

Side note: There are several (IMHO, hilarious) low-speed chases involving drunk drivers on lawnmowers on YouTube taken from cop dash cams.

Luckily for us, our favorite local mexican place ("mas alla del sol") is just down the street from us, about a 10 minute walk.

No cars, or cabs, or transit, or even bicycles required. Just feet.

Thanks for the b-day well wishes, guys.

Awesome

Just to satiate my Southwestern curiosity regarding Mexican food outside of this region, that place looks legit.

^ it's legit alright.

Chicago has craploads of legit mexican places. Even though it's nowhere near mexico, there are over 1.5M people of Mexican ancestry in chicagoland, so there's definitely a critical mass here to make for authentic mexican culture in the windy city.

I don't doubt it. I knew there was a large Latino population there.

I guess I was thinking more of places like Cincinnati and elsewhere in the Midwest with small Latino populations, where for the longest time, "legit Mexican food" was Chi-Chi's

Happy Birthday (belated) Steely. I am jealous of cities with actual Mexican restaurants. My town desperately needs one.

Trudeau meets Trump Handshake Inspires Awkward Commentary on Twitter

In a word: captions.
Twitter erupted with clever captions for a handshake between PM Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday, during Trudeau's first meeting with the new American leader.
There's was one twitter post with Donald handing Justin a poutine which was awesome, but I can't seem to find it now.

Thunder Bay hasn't had snow on the ground since late February. It's been spring for weeks. New York City got more snow yesterday than we've gotten all winter.

That time lapse is awesome. Should be trying to melt the last of the ice in the yards this weekend here.

As of last night I've completed my last ever assignment in my masters degree. After seven consecutive years in academia It's time to discover real life and try to make some money!
