You're instigating, westsider.

There seems to be an inability to talk about urban and things pertaining to his POV and rhetorical methods without being highly condescending, which is one reason I'm not crying over him being banned.

I think it was a little more than just a dissenting opinion. But anyway, Updx is a big boy, he can take care of himself. Nothing prevents him from reading our comments, or even starting his own blog like JackBog did.

is this still on? I'm probably gonna have the bail this weekend as I'm 93% sure I'm gonna be stuck in a previous commitment that was supposed to be over at noon. If y'all are still meeting, great, I'll try and get out early, if not, another weekend?

That would have sucked if I had gone up to PDX from Florence and only one other person bothered to show up or call off the meet beforehand... I was looking forward to reading your comments and seeing your pics...

Quick PDX gathering?

I have to go to Seattle on the 31st returning to PDX, via AMTRAK, Saturday the 2nd... Any of you care to meet up for a impromptu meetup for a few hours of pics and walking tours of downtown prior to me heading back to Eugene/Florence? Maybe a quick lunch....I arrive in PDX around 11:00 am... ??

If it were one day later I might be able to make it. My wife is having surgery the day before and I am taking care of her through surgery recovery. Hope to see you in town another day though.

BTW, I was at the Mo's in florence about 4 weeks ago having some fish and chips. Such a good place to enjoy the coast. Nice place to hang out, plus I love Honeyman state Park! I don't know what river I was looking over though. I'm thinking the suislaw?

Portland in February...anyone up for a meet?

I'll be in Portland Thursday February 5 and Sunday February 8 to visit Portland State University and tour the city. I'm staying at a hostel west of Downtown (23rd Avenue), driving up to Seattle on Friday and coming back Saturday night. Anyone interested in a meet? Any good (cheap?) places to eat? Where's the best place to take pictures of the skyline and whatnot?

I'm down for a meet... That weekend is my wife's b-day, though. I don't know what my plans will be, but if I can make it, I'll be there. As far as taking photos, do a mapquest on this address...

1570 SW Upper Hall St
Portland, OR 97201

It's a pretty good spot for skyline shots. The aerial tram is good, too.

As far as food, I'm sure you'll get better recomendations from others, but I like the Taste Tickler on NE 14th and B'way (not near where you're staying, but not too far a drive if you still have your car). It's a hole in the wall sub place. Pretty good and inexpensive, but like I said, others will probably have better ideas.
