Does anyone know why they haven't been lighting the crown at night lately?

How late? They turn it off at midnight or so and back on just before dawn.

It's been like that for a little while now. I was down there several days ago around 9 p.m and Frost Tower wasn't lit.

I second that. They haven't turned it on at all last I checked. I'll probably get a chance to see if it's lit tonight.

Maybe Frost Bank is going green ?

It may be because of the crickets. I bet the roof of the mechanical penthouse is 6 inches deep with dead crickets. Birds because of the crickets could also be a problem.

It is off because of the crickets, at least according to some people that work there.

6 to 8 inches deep layer of crickets when the UT Tower lights are on! Hahah. Anyone remember this?

The timing of the rains in September caused an explosion of crickets. They are everywhere, getting into the house, waking me up at night with their incessant chirping.

Just because this thread was dredged from the deeps, here's one of the best shots I've seen of the crown.

Yep. I don't understand how developers haven't wanted to compete with that thing of beauty...since then it's just been a bunch of cheap crap by comparison.
