I just saw the largest piece of steel I've ever seen in my life sitting in front of the site.

LOL, sorry, but it was getting dark, and I had a train to catch.

I'm sure someone probably got it.

Glad to see the plaza is livelier in the latest renders. There are also 2 large cranes on site, no tower cranes yet.

Oh my gosh. It looks like they destroyed the bases of these gorgeous buildings. I KNEW it was too good to be true. Gotta have that retail. Good architecture be damned. Looks awful

It's actually not much different than from the last renderings. You're just seeing a different rendering of it. The towers themselves haven't really been touched.

Yeah, I liked the older version better.... but retail brings money.

so the second tower (2 manhattan west?) is on hold until they fully lease tower one? it seems amazing to me that so many towers are simultaneously searching for tenants. even more amazing is this small scale exodus to the far west side. i guess that's where they're building, but it's still an amazing turnaround. and it's great for smaller companies as rents pressures decline in midtown and will continue to do so as the next dozen office towers go up in the far west side.

The more and more I look at the design, the more I adore it. I guess I just have a thing for monolithic constructs.

well you gotta bring people or you have a ghost town. Other than us, who is going to go there to gawk at skyscrapers? Retail and food brings people

Those older renders were changed long ago, I don't know where you guys have been. As far as retail, the plaza space is supposed to function ad a "thru" street,
giving a pedestrian flow through the site. No one wants to repeat the mistakes of the original WTC plaza.

As for current state of affairs, I now know where that steel went...(cell pics)

Where was that steel? Besides the two average (for building that size) still beams I did not see any monster steel.

Oh it's monster when it's sitting right on the street in front of you, trust me.
