Whether you think these stereotypes are accurate/inaccurate/outdated, I've met some of them: The struggling actor. The struggling musician. The surfer. There's also the struggling artist; I know a guy from the Bay Area who now lives in LA and gets commissioned to paint murals on the sides of buildings. For a day job, he works retail.

This might not be stereotypical of all of LA, but then there's also the New Age woman who's into crystals, and lives in Venice (I've met someone like that too). And of course back in the 80s, there was the white chick named Debbie who spoke with a Valley Girl accent.

But when I think of modern/contemporary/early 21st Century Los Angeles, I think of young people who look like this:

Mostly Latinos with the token few everything else.
That is pretty spot on accurate for Los Angeles

A lot of the Latinos look like they work in a hipster bakery where the others in the photo patronize. Even counting the workers, majority Latino it isn’t.

Here’s young LA to me;

and this;

What does posting pictures of crowds of random people that could literally be anywhere USA have to do with the Stereotypical guy [non plural] of your city?

Here's one of Portland, Oregon:

When did this become the “show us pics of crowds of young 20 somethings who are on a pub crawl” thread?

In Kansas City, it would be anyone, as long as they're eating some BBQ.

This was an accurate stereotype up until about ten years ago:

Source.

However, in the past decade these folks have been pushed out by...

Source.

...this bitch and all her rich bitch friends, and their golf-sweatered husbands. They're white, they're middle aged, they're from Atlanta, and they think nothing of dropping $350K on the most darling little West Asheville bungalow because it's just the most adorable thing that Bootsie has ever seen, and she has to have it, has to have it, has to have it right this instant, Thad and who cares that it's on the verge of collapse and and it's actively on fire -- there are people who do these things, Thad, darling... Buy it, buy it, buy it!!

And of course they can afford it. They have more money than God. And so it goes on. Sunflower Moonbeam moves out, Thad and Bootsie move in.

If you guys haven't watched JBoston's link (Casey Affleck's Dunkin Donuts SNL sketch), I highly suggest it. It's uncomfortably spot-on.

This is the infamous Vanilla Nut Taps short

Your typical, run-of-the-mill, blue-collar Masshole is just like this.

I don't know, use your imagination.
These photos are tagged by location. The people in the photos appear to match the cities their tagged in. They also include FEMALES, oh my!!

BTW, I am a bit curious as to why you posted a picture of a crowd of black people in jest (along with white eskimos in Miami for diversion), conveniently after I changed the view of LA from white hipster/brown servants to mostly brown/black/Asian beauty along with some gorgeous whites. Which is what LA really is.

LA City: 49% H, 28% W, 11.5% A, 8.6% B, 2.2% Mixed
LA Metro: 46% H, 32% W, 13% A, 6% B, 2.3% Mixed

Do stereotypical people not go to pubs or clubs? Did I miss something about what age the people should be?

Tell you what. Pick out one male from the pictures I posted. Make believe that there are no other people in the photo with them. Let me know if that's to hard for you to pull off.

Dude, some of the others on here maybe, but I'm surprised you would be one to fall down the rabbit hole...

We were in Asheville a few months ago and I was expecting Abby the Spoon Lady and instead I got a strong 'sweater around the neck and Birkenstock' vibe about the place.

Sad to hear the news about the Patagonia bros. Those vests are actually the perfect attire here, along with a rain shell.

I've just started removing the Patagonia logos because I do like their corporate responsibility and would rather spend a little more for something that isn't sold by corporate peckerheads suckling at the teat of the devil herself.
