^ That's a spectacular photo, "la belle province de la rose sauvage".
I had to check to see if it was Quebec or Alberta.

Blanshard Needle

A funny thing about living in Vancouver: we are surrounded by dozens of mountains, but I'm confident that the vast majority of us cannot identify 90% or more of them. The Lions? Check. Mt. Baker? Check. Golden Ears? Maybe. Crown? Coquitlam? Edge? Black Buttes? . . . . I used to climb mountains - I usually can't name the local ones on the spot, or from various different angles. And more-so, it would embarrass 90% of us to try and draw a reasonable line representing the most typical views of the North Shore mountains. Yet I know millions of little details about endless aspects of the physical components of the city and region - right down to cracks in sidewalks. Funny lot we are. And then a picture like this comes along, picking out a peak that rarely registers without a telephoto, and WOW.

St. Bernard's Church rectory in downtown Moncton. It's currently for sale, and could be yours for $449,000. Before you get too excited however, apparently there is significant water damage in the interior, and is being offered "as is"

I really want it saved. It's an architectural gem, and has a heritage designation. I think it could make a great brew pub. There are already three brew pubs in a one block radius of this building (Tide & Boar, Gahan House and Pumphouse), and a new one here would really firm up this district as an entertainment zone........
