Yep, Midtown has come of age. No longer the skinny part of the urban core.

I had said a ways back that Buckhead better not break ground on another office tower before Midtown breaks ground on CODA, Anthem, 1105 W. Peachtree and 901 W. Peachtree towers.

Not to mention Norfolk Southern headquarters buildings, and possibly the office tower at Spring and 17th streets breaking ground soon.

The planned office tower across from the MARTA Buckhead station was announced years ago and has NOT moved forward.

I think we can all agree that Midtown has finally taken the development mantel away from Buckhead's business district in both the residential and office categories.

We can only hope downtown starts to see more vertical development with the Gulch deal.

Two observations on the Midtown photo:

Hanover at Peachtree & 7th looks great. From this angle, its hard to imagine a 30+ story tower will fit between Hanover and Metropolis with space remaining for another tower in the (can't be gone soon enough) Bulldog's lot.

Several of the large gaps in the skyline now have projects proposed or under construction. This makes Dewberry's block even more conspicuous.

Very nice pic. Makes Atlanta feel truly dense in the midtown area.

would be nice if they could remodel the ground floor into something more worthy of our tallest building. when i was growing up i would see it from blocks away but didn't know exactly where it was until i was in my 20s, i never looked up on that block and thought it was some kind of parking garage and an elevated garden. call me stupid, it's plain as day to me now, but the tower is so far back from the street it's unusual, i just expected a grand entrance or something.

For sure. It's got one of the worst street presences of any building in the city, but as a building it's pretty fantastic.

Agree, it just needs another tall building near it, (like at&t) looks so lonely, though the increase in density is definitely helping

There are not many developable sites left around Tech Square.

Well the parking lots are almost gone, but still plenty of 1 story buildings or parking deck only parcels.
