July 4th Evening in Tempe

A few pics from the fireworks show in downtown Tempe.

It was 106 degrees at 9:00pm, but nobody was really bothered by it. A good time was had by all.

The fireworks show occurred over the Tempe Town lake, another 1/4 mile north of me. Ever since the July 4th fireworks have started in Tempe,
I've always gone to the north side of the lake, but this time I was late to the show. I had to settle for some shots from the top of west Centerpoint
parking garage. Crowd shots are along Mill Ave. All photos were shot with a 2-second shutter speed, various exposures.
Exif data should still be available if you're curious.

Yes, that's a plane...

Time to clean up; police clearing people off the street...

By now, the only ones left are me and the bongo player...

Good night from Tempe.

Gratuitous pano warning ------->>>>>

Cool. Last night was my first time at the Tempe fireworks. I was really impressed, wow. I heard beforehand that 100,000 people show up. I had serious doubts about that. But, hey, I can't count throngs of people but I totally believe that many were there. I sat in front of the new towers going up on Tempe Town Lake. The three that are finished are freakin' awesome.

Unreal! I was at the top of that same parking structure! My friends and I were in the NW corner of the lot.

I took that oportunity to nerd out on them and tell them about the various developments that were in sight .

I could see the Phoenix Country Club, Indian School Park, and Tempe all from the roof top deck of my rent's loft. I watched most of the country club from my front lawn though.

It was the country club that had fireworks too? I saw the Steele Indian School Park ones from my backyard then another set I didn't know about that ended at about 10pm... they looked right up 7th St. from me, but i wasn't sure where they were coming from.

/\ Really? It seemed like the first one was further west, and the second one at about 930-10 was further east right up 7th St. Eh, who cares... it was cool.

The CC fire off pretty much where 9th st and Earll Dr would intersect if they ran into the country club.
