Tempe in the Spring Part 1

A nice spring day in Tempe, AZ. It was about 80 degrees F, and not a cloud in the sky.

Thought I would try out the new camera this afternoon, so I took a stroll across the Mill Avenue Bridge. Unfortunately I don't have a memory card for the camera yet (the built-in memory is minimal), so my photo opportunities were limited. I'll be out again tomorrow for some additional shots.

The Tempe Music Festival was happening, along with the the Spring Festival of the Arts.

1) The approach to DT Tempe, from the north.

2)

3) I don't even know who was playing at the time.

4)

5) Dumb-ass UofA students trying to disfigure the mountain.

6) It was late in the afternoon, so the vendors were starting to close shop for the day. However, there were still a lot of people on Mill.

7)

8)

9) Centerpoint Condos are coming along...

10)

11) A quick shot of Papago Park, taken from the north side of the river.

12) Finally, a couple of panos of the south bank of the Salt River and the lake.

13)

Thanks for the encouragement folks. I'm still a novice with photography, but I find it therapeutic.

FYI, part 2 of the series is now posted. Most of those pics are from the fair, with a few others thrown in.

Playing around with the new Google Maps features, I've created markers showing the corresponding location for each image posted in this thread. Kind of interesting. I'll add notes about the images as I progress.

edit: oops having problems, will try to repost

Ok, here we go.

This was quite an interesting exercise. If anyone is interested in knowing more, just ask.

Tempe in the Spring part 1, via Google Maps

And if you are interested in visiting the Google Earth forum for a G.E. version of this map, go here...

Vertex,

Thanks for the effort! That's a great way to post a photo spree, when someone is covering a lot of ground. I like how it shows the photo perspective on the map. Well done...Ah technology

Just FYI, Apple offers a multi button mouse now, its called "the mighty mouse." I myself use a cheap Microsoft mouse that has 2 buttons and a scroll wheel (I think its cost about $20).
