Ah okay so it probably won't be too easy to get this thing off the ground again, figures.

It certainly won't be easy but it also is not impossible. I would practice cautious optimism. If Atlas is serious and is truly investing $100+ million in this project as originally designed then I believe there is some hope for this project, again doesn't mean it will happen.

Things were going well last time, the only reason they couldn't get another loan is because the real estate market crashed. 2008 remember? That should not be a problem this time around as prices are not elevated like they were last time due to bad loans. Shelbourne and Atlas have said nothing about "won't be too easy..." please please STOP speculating.

There's nothing wrong with speculating but I think we just all need to put this on the backburner and pretend it doesn't exist until there's real news, myself included.

From last month - the gates have been manned for the past few months.
There is also traffic to the bridge houses on this level for maintenance/repair.

I have thought that many times, i can't think of another super tall being right next to such low rise buildings....imagine going on to your rooftop deck and looking straight up at a 2000 ft building! crazy.

Did anyone who saw the movie "Divergent" notice toward the beginning that the camera swept inbound from Navy Pier right past the Spire site and the open hole was "still" there? I was surprised that they hadn't inserted any sort of fictional structure over the spot. Apparently the Spire doesn't exist, even in a dystopian future. Go figure.

Depending on how the facade turned out, it would have looked a lot classier too.

Can Kelleher just abandon the spire and take up that project, it would be much more feasible to be built.

Dude, the Spire is getting built. Stop complaining. Have you not been following the news lately?

I agree, I think he should just build a ~1500 foot waldorf astoria on the site.

Well I wouldn't be that optimistic, despite the good (or rather neutral) news there are still a lot of hurtles, also a lot of money needed that isn't just going to appear out of nowhere (most importantly)
