^Agreed.

I think a monthly(ish) thread in City Photos would make a lot of sense (instead of your current updated Megathread). Just a thought.

Now that I've stopped continually looking at all of these fantastic photos...... I'm not going to compliment you like everybody else here....... I don't want you to get too big a head.....

Oh.... what the heck...... these photos are all excellent. If one considers these eye candy..... so be it.... but they are still fantastic photographs.

Blow them up, put these in simple frames.... have a showing.... and I'd bet a lot of them will sell for good $$$$$........ the heck with stupid regulations, eh?

Amazing what technology can do these days..... yet it still takes someone with a lot of skill to get the end product that you did......

Nah. You were right. We can't allow Ryan to get a big head.

We need to arm ourselves against Ryan's growing skull.

This is a week of RyanD's moral battles (not just with this topic either). ANYWAYS, there are many ways to sell aerial photos and make everyone, including the FAA, happy. So after doing some research I'm green lighting it. As far as prints, I'm going to order some for myself to see how they look. I'm just curious what a GoPro image would look like on a 20x30" print. Could be awesome, could look like Minecraft. We'll see.

You have a contract for a 20x30 print, no need to speculate, I need results, asap. Court hearing on Monday!

And quit being all moral and just do it/her.

Fantastic photos, Ryan! I think that they are deserving of a SSP gathering where all of Ryan's drinks are free.

After which we'll steal his drone.

No longer kidding about drone combat: https://stacksocial.com/sales/the-ex...=microdrone2.0

$75 for that baby drone. Shame Ryan can escape it, as the baby drone's radio range is only good to 400'. And the camera is probably awful. But still. I want it.

Bump for new proposal press release

Quote:
Under the proposed rule, the person actually flying a small UAS would be an “operator.” An operator would have to be at least 17 years old, pass an aeronautical knowledge test and obtain an FAA UAS operator certificate. To maintain certification, the operator would have to pass the FAA knowledge tests every 24 months. A small UAS operator would not need any further private pilot certifications (i.e., a private pilot license or medical rating).
The new rule also proposes operating limitations designed to minimize risks to other aircraft and people and property on the ground:
  • A small UAS operator must always see and avoid manned aircraft. If there is a risk of collision, the UAS operator must be the first to maneuver away.
  • The operator must discontinue the flight when continuing would pose a hazard to other aircraft, people or property.
  • A small UAS operator must assess weather conditions, airspace restrictions and the location of people to lessen risks if he or she loses control of the UAS.
  • A small UAS may not fly over people, except those directly involved with the flight.
  • Flights should be limited to 500 feet altitude and no faster than 100 mph.
  • Operators must stay out of airport flight paths and restricted airspace areas, and obey any FAA Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs).

Actual proposed rule HERE

Wonder what's gonna be on the test. Rumors have the test costing less than $300.

The proposed rules are open for comments over the next 60 days.

What is all this?

Ahhhhhh, very nice.
Nice sunset shots. The 2nd Civic Center shot with the Capitol to the right and downtown to the left jumped out at me.
The Platform is looking very nice. Looking all grown up.

Exactly

Always enjoy seasonal tree shots but there's something awe-inspiring about nice winter shots.
Like the last sunken gardens shot too.

Wonderful, awesome eye candy.
