At least the penthouse levels are interesting to look at - ie. not just a dumb elevator overrun box.

I really wish they had a rooftop garden for the residences instead of just the penthouse Imagine watching the fireworks from the Bay

The strata office space has sold:

Quote:
Cushman & Wakefield vice-president Roger Leggatt, who is handling sales with Max Zessel, said strata sales have been possible at Anvil Centre since CRS acquired the city-built project. However, the time seems to be ripe for a more aggressive push in this direction.
...
An owner-user has gone firm on 40,000 square feet at the Modello tower in Burnaby’s Metrotown area, for example, and last year the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union bought 30,000 square feet in the Sovereign tower a block away.

Just wondering...did anyone here that purchase a unit at Modello opted for upgrades like the smart thermostat, alarm system, and etc? If so, any idea what the manufacturer/models they will be? When I asked during purchase, they weren't able to provide me with the details

I wasn't even offered this. They only offered to upgrade the floors to all hardwood.

How much extra was it for these upgrades?

I think about like $500 or so. If they gave you the hardwood floor upgrade for free then you got a pretty good deal

No we paid over 3k for the floor upgrade.

I Thought all units include its own security system per the deatures sheet. ...

But the thermostats thing I didn't know wasn't smart

I wonder if I can still upgrade

No photo to provide, but I do hope that the lights in the crown are just construction lights, as they look very tacky from the outside. They look like long fluorescent lights, which just cannot be final.

I hope the final lighting of the crown is modest and compliments the building. It's still quite difficult to say what the final look of the building will be like, as they have yet to install most of the balcony glass and also paint places here and there.

I suppose most work currently is taking place indoors. When is the building supposed to be ready for move-in?

There's one literally a block away across the street at the entrance to Station Square/the Hotel on Central Boulevard with another 4 or 5 locations peppered all around inside or around the mall. (And another one still on Kingsway just before you hit Nelson..
...I'm probably forgetting a few.).

And yet it still wouldn't surprise me if they STILL opened yet another one in the podium of your building.

I've been to cities where you'll have two Starbucks locations sitting literally across each other on opposite sides of the same street.
Like, are the yuppies too lazy to cross the street for their caffeine hit, or is the fear that the caffeine high will have run out by the time the crossing light turns green?

There used to be two across from each other for years in Downtown at Robson and Thurlow.

But yeah, anything but yet another Starbucks would be nice to see here.

I seem to remember something about a pub / patio and having to ask extra permission / get paperwork done for it (if that was ever more than a rumour). Maybe someone else here knows.

I always liked this building, for some reason. The classy sleekness, absence of seafoam green, (grey is cool) the elegantness of it. I could see it well placed in Downtown South, as a centrepiece on a major street or corner.

Also good symmetry and concrete. None of that half assed brick.

I hope the March move-in date is still on schedule!

Does anyone find it odd that the mechanical room floors are always lit up with those ugly fluorescent lights while the rest of the building is suppose to be lit with LED?
