Moncton Events Center petition

Anyone from the Moncton area, sign this petition to get the city council to change there views on the event center project. The arena needs to have more than 7,500 seats and If we can gather enough support we may just be able to get council to see what the people want.

If we can get to 1000 I think that will be a good point, I have emailed this off to News 91.9, put it on social media sites such as facebook and will continue to push to get this viewed and signed.

CBC is doing a story on how the downtown hotels moncton are concerned about the lack of seating, anyway, I poorly represented us in an interview with the cbc... but at least the petition is now making news.

I signed it and shared it. I think it's important that people like myself (from Summerside, PEI) sign, because I am still affected by them choosing to build smaller.

Thanks! Exactly this is important to the people of Moncton and outside of it, events draw people from all over and it's important to supply for Moncton and the maritimes a venue worth there while .

There is also now a facebook page with the petition link, so anyone can share it that way, it is also producing ads on Facebook.

I did a terrible interview, caught me off guard when they called, but this is important to myself and I know many other citizens, the community is speaking up and we are as much apart of this as anyone else.

Though the CBC faithful don't appreciate this story, once again they are curious to only one thing... parking oh and the occasional, its my taxes and I don't want it..

Great idea, and I heard you on CBC...great job!

Your voice is one of hope for this city in the midst of the negativity we're fed on the news day after day

I'll sign as well We have the exact same problem in St. John's; Mile One wasn't built big enough to support the demand. Artists often have to book 2 shows in a row and they both sell out, and Ice Caps tickets are impossible to get without buying a month in advance. Another 1000-2000 seats would go well. I'd hate to see you guys go through the same thing.

Thank you everyone, I believe in this city and always have, we have a right to be heard on this project and need to let the city know that people back the Mayor and his original plans. The extra money spent will be well worth it down the road when we have a state of the art facility that draws in more than a few shows a year. Growing up in Moncton I always felt proud of where I was from, I always was quick to tell people about how great Moncton was, it was my home. We all call Moncton home and its important that we push to better the city we all love.

I for one want to see the city stand up and not be afraid to do the "impossible", this is the perfect way to show respects to the late Ian Fowler, who believed in the city and dreamed big, a man who would never use the word impossible.

Closing in on 100 people, I believe thats a good start, but we need to share it more and anyone who looks at this page should really consider sharing it.
