Sure, I'll be in that area tomorrow afternoon. I'll be sure to take some photos.

I lost my way today and found myself way up north in Round Rock. There's a tower crane up along SH45 just SW of La Frontera. Does anyone know what awesome suburban sprawl project this is for?

That would be for the new Forest Park Medical Center.

You can also check out their webcam here:

I drove under that crane today. Also drove Burnet Rd from Duval. That area between Duval and Anderson Lane is a plethora of construction and upgrades. I really like whats happening in this part of Austin, but it does kind of have that yuppish feel to it. It not as hippish as the south side of town.
Btw, and I know no one cares, but Hawaiian Falls is coming along nicely with 3 of the big slides near completion. But I don't see how they are going to have it completed by the end of May. I think, from what I have seen, its going to be pretty cool but not Schliterbahn cool. But I may find myself wading in the 3 football field size wave pool.

I drove by Hawaiian Falls on my excursion up to R.R. and was impressed with the place. It looks like a nice regional destination water park, whereas the Schlitter is almost a national destination water park.

Then you probably seen the construction from Stone Hill to south on 685. There almost isn't a parcel along the highway that isn't being developed. And I agree with your assessment of Hawaiin Falls, both being impressive and regional. Bottom line is I think it will be good for the area, from Georgetown to Austin. There's no doubt 130 and 45 has been a boon for Pflugerville. I live just 5 minutes away so I welcome all the shops and restaurants being built. I literally can avoid all the traffic issues everywhere else in the area and find what I need, including a decent movie theater complex.

The Hawaiian Falls folks are working furiously to meet their Memorial Day deadline. I've seen them working nights and weekends. Hope they make it!

But if they aren't finished in time, I hope they postpone openning day until they are. Those reviews would be brutal, like the premature grand openning of the Austin Aquarium.
I haven't been able to find any pictures of the actual layout for this park, so I'm also hoping it packs at least a half a day's worth of entertainment, unlike the Austin Zoo, Austin's Park, and Austin Aquarium where after an hour or two, you're ready to leave, and never come back.
Talked to a few merchants in the area that are banking on mothers dropping off the kids then spending the rest of the day shopping and dining until its time to pick them up.

This is the only layout I've seen. Looks pretty close.

Looks like a lot of work remaining for just a months time.

Thanks sammyk. A few days ago they haven't even started the grand entry structure and I just don't see how its going to be built in 30 days unless they horsecart 500 Amish carpenters in to do an old fashion barn raising.

I think the "grand entry structure" was started a few days ago. There's a partial steel frame up.

The one that got away

Hutto seems to have come close to landing the Tesla plant. There was a lot of effort put into the package offered to Tesla:
