It's amazing to me how closely the glass is following the superstructure here. A testament to the construction team.

What a tower. Instant icon.

The only unreal thing is the stupid telephoto camera effect that is a lie. The skyline doesn't look like that in reality.

It sure is, and still we get to watch it grow.

Why did they trash this design with the gold and silver spray tan? Like a giant guido! It's like they decided their design couldn't hold up to 111 with it's Terra cotta and bronze, quick run the last few facade panels over to LA Tan before we put em up!

I thought tans made you darker, not lighter in brighter color. Odd. Your "observation" is a bit flawed

Globalviewfinder pic #2 is tantamount and conflatable to therapeutic intervention for someone like me..............

Edit: Is that finally 1V's crane to Lady Chrysler's immediate right????

I like the change in color, it adds to the dramatic effect it will have at the top. It's not going to be a boring and anti-climatic topping off by any means.

I must admit however your comment is very funny!

As long as there are no personal insults, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion I suppose.

This last part has really slowed down this project. Half of me is ok with it because it prolongs the excitement of watching this thing go up, but the other half of me is really ready to see how this thing actually looks with its point crown.

(Also, that comment wasn't racist, its about white Italian Americans and you making that comparison is actually kinda insensitive to actual real life racism that Blacks and jews face in the US)

"Why did they trash this design
with the gold and silver spray tan? . .
It's like they decided their design couldn't hold up to 111 . .
quick run the last few facade panels over to LA Tan . . "

True . .
it would've been a great, grade-A, sophisticated crown design . .
but painted pastel yellow, cloud grey & dark brown . .
(silver & gold, my ass) . . the lights & dark feign a lesser shape . .
visually indistinct, fading in & out . .
Verre's bold architecturally shaped apex,
got all fussy, broken up & superficially more divided . .
Instead of standing out resolved, stark & proud . .
it's fighting the light, lost in its own cloud . .
The absolutely most important part of this fierce building,
wimps out ! . . this sky-fainter scrapes little sky . .
The developer's fashionable, yet disastrous, make-up decision,
makes edgy greatness, parade clownish tinker-toy . .
Why in God's name . . is he appeasing Amanda ?

but for everything bad that I said about Verre's
superficial crown make-up, . . in the right lighting,
she'll still be able to cut a fairly sharp silhouette
from a distance . .

I don't think it's superficial. Is Chrysler's spire superficial? Well I guess it is, sort of. But I also like it.
