I don't like it. It looks silly.

I'm kinda bummed the Minerva Building never happened. It was a classically understated, fully British counterpart to the unusual - but equally brilliant - stylings of the Gherkin, the Cheese Grater and the Walkie Talkie.

The original design was better, now it's too fat. But it's still nice.

Compare with the rendering:
Anybody else notice the steelwork is bowing outward when it should be bowing inward? What's up with that?

It definitely looks off from the render. The angle of the curve is much less pronounced at the base, and it appears to start it's upper outward curve on a lower floor than the render.

That's what I thought too, I compared the flare to the rooftops of the nearby buildings - and it was definitely different from the rendering.

I'll go back and look at earlier const. photos to compare.

I think that is an old render - the tower has been redesigned since then - also the photograph has quite a lot of lens curve on it which is distorting the look

I see. So no more "Talkie" mouthpiece.

That's a great shot, chest. I trust you were wearing those same Union Jack glasses while taking that pic...

So I guess this thing really doesn't resemble a walkie talkie anymore, even though it will probably retain that nickname, as Londoners are keen to nickname their skyscrapers.

I love it. I think more towers need sky parks like this one.

I wouldn't give up any of the condos in Toronto, I love the density they add. But would welcome a few of these London skyscrapers in Toronto. A 250m version of the Gherkin would be great for say 45 Bay Street. It would also be great to see copies of The Leadenhall and Bishopsgate Tower in the CBD. We can but dream.
