It should be, after all the ESB spire is lit up every night.

Today

Two of my friends took part in the events today and allowed me to post their pictures. A good mix of clouds + sun for photos today.

They are really going to have to light the rings as well to make it look decent. Just lighting it the way it is only "highlights" the lack of connection between the antenna and the tower.

Also, keep in mind that the rotating beacon will be the attention grabber.

Eh, doesn't seem that realistic. You have to keep in mind the "glass curtain" windows on 1 and 4 WTC are much wider than those of the older buildings around it, so they will both look more brightly lit because more light will be seeping through. I would imagine strips of light running around certain floors rather than individual dots, more like this, but minus the brightly lit base and mechanical floors: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QQ71WExBW9...ofarchi_04.jpg

I though the base would be lit, just not very bright?

The night time light situation in 1WTC and 4WTC will be completely different when walls are built and employees fill in the floors. I don't see why they need lights on mechanical floors, that would just be a waste of energy and this is a LEED Gold building.
