interesting.. wonder if the restriction just applied to the rest of the site, so they could hold the historic portion hostage?

4 million ransom Edmonton... or the brewery gets it

a better headline would have read 'developer too inept to create profitable business plan with 2 clean slate blocks and a unique, arguably priceless, landmark to anchor it'

I see this partly as an unfortunate side effect of the arena deal, definitely sent the message that the city will negotiate with economic terrorists

Well, the City could have conditioned the renovation and dollars for preservation in a DC zoning, but we all know how that rezoning process went.

Now that Shoppers on 104 St is ready to open, saw a sign that the staff and files at Dispensaries pharmacy has moved to their other location at the Baker Centre on 106 St.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already... Is that building near on the rocks also going to be a shoppers? The colours sure look like it...

And also, can we please get a pull and bear somewhere in the city??

Yes, that's a new Shoppers. Or rather, a relocation from Jasper/114.

^its like a small step up from an H&M... A more casual Zara maybe is how I'd describe it? Nice cheap clothes... That store caused me a bit of a headache because I bought way too much stuff... And only had a carry on wheel luggage and a backpack for a month and a half trip 😐 And for the record I DESPISE shopping so I might not be the best judge of clothing stores lol.

How odd, Pull & Bear has no stores in Canada nor in the States.
They're like the soccer of retail!
So I doubt they'd even consider Edmonton before, say, Toronto, New York or LA.

No disrespect intended, but isn't H&M really just disposable clothing? Cheap, lasts a season and then it's toast?

^100% I swear some H&M shirts are one time use...as soon as you wash it they warp and fade... That's why I said it's a step up lol. So far everything I bought is holding up to washes and use. So in my non expert opinion it seems like decent quality for the price point. Also, it was in one of the less expensive countries that I visited, so who knows, maybe their pricing varies from country to country...

They riff on anglo culture, their only anglosphere presence is in the UK at a paltry 7 stores.

Looks like Wizard Comics has moved into the former Movie Studio space, but the signs on both old and new locations haven't changed yet.

I'm very anxious to see the renderings for the new food court at ECC.

^ Tenant relocation from the third floor is well underway with new spaces being outfitted elsewhere in ECC.

I'm much more interested to see what exterior renos are coming, if any (please tell me there will be).
