I drive through the downtown of my new town every weekday while commuting to West Palm Beach. Before I moved, I lived right in the edge of downtown West Palm Beach and only needed to go on a single street to get there, but I only went there when I really needed to, since unlike in Canada, many American downtowns are only busy on special times of the day or year.

There is an airport right beside downtown Toronto. There is a shuttle bus that brings you within blocks of the very heart of the city, and it's only a 5 minute ride or so.

For the better part of the last four years, I've been going downtown five days a week. One semester left, and I graduate. Who knows after that. I would definitely prefer to work in a downtown area.

Live/work/play downtown Vancouver. I'm a block and a half from work. I come home for lunch! I typically only leave downtown on the weekends when I'm usually hiking the North Shore.

Ah, so someone was there to take care of it afterwards. Gotcha. I thought you would have had to see that outside your window for the next month or so

That's... actually kinda sad. You should get out and explore the city more, there is a lot to see an do! Beaches, High Park, Don River system, the exotic restaurants of Scarberia, aviation museum at Downsview... and the list goes on.

I work in downtown Toronto but live in North York Centre because it's easier on the girlfriend's daily commute out into the GTA hinterlands. The plan is to move downtown in a couple years.

Depends on whether I'm in Waterloo or on a work term, but I head into Uptown Waterloo on almost a daily basis, downtown Kitchener more than once a week, and downtown Toronto whenever I can.

Come January it'll be every day with dt Toronto.

I work downtown but outside of that I avoid it like the plague.

Only things that exist downtown that don't exist in the suburbs are clubs, so I only head down if I'm going out or I'm working.

Love admiring the skyline from a distance though

I don't know about that. I only ever go in to downtown St. John's to hit up George Street or for a casual stroll when I've grown bored of the suburban parks. The sprawling nature of my general area makes it very possible to live without going downtown.

Of course, it's a lifeless and cultureless living. But I survive. Just me and Wal-Mart.

Work downtown, and live two blocks away. Life is grand.

London: About twice/week. I work out at UWO campus (about 4 kms northwest of downtown...I got a nice view of part of downtown from my office window). I will have a business dinner downtown about once/week, and I take my family downtown once/week for fun/food. Live out in the wasteland suburbs.

I live almost in the midpoint of Downtown Vancouver. I currently work in suburb, but starting january I will start working in Downtown. I just love getting rid of daily commute with my car.

I've heard that downtown Mimico is very similar to Thunder Bay, or the other way around. I know Isaidso enjoyed this part of the country when he was here a few years ago so maybe he will like Mimico?

It is. Especially considering most of Toronto's best restaurants, bars, stores etc are west of Bathurst. Lots of good stuff going on east of the Don these days too. And on Yonge north of Davenport all the way up to North York (if you enjoy good Korean food in the latter case).

My answer to the question depends on your definition of downtown. I live in the central city in an area just east of the Don River that I would in no way consider downtown. However suburban types often refer to this living situation as "living downtown".

I certainly work in the City's definition of the core at Queen's Park and Wellesley. It's not the financial core though. So I guess I'm downtown 5 days a week? If it wasn't for work I would spend most of my time in the inner city outside of downtown proper, with the exception of passing through to go from east to west

I go downtown at least once a month(except for winter) only for tours, fun, and relaxation. Also, I'm surprised nobody has chosen 'less than once per year' yet.

They are afraid to admit it on a skyscraper forum!
