I saw this on DODGE yesterday. Possible second NEMA tower? Anyone have an account to see the details?

^200 mil seems low for a taller Nema. How much did Nema 1 cost?

There were rumors of a 10-16 story building across the street in the empty lot on Indiana.

Those aren't rumors. Something was announced for that lot when NEMA was first announced. It was supposed to be phase 3 though if I remember correctly

I prefer the new design to the old one as well, by a lot. The chop doesn't bother me, it likely wouldn't have made much of a dent in the skyline much anyway. In this good design trumps height.

That Prodema cladding on Fulton East looks a little fake when used on a flat surface, but on the accordion surface it looks amazing. Does not disappoint!

On the flat side it almost looks like the building has been shuttered due to eviction.

125 W Maple would add to the Atrium Village cluster nicely too

Edit:

"Last month, the Tribune reported that the condo board of the nearest building, the Gold Coast Galleria, at 111 W. Maple St., told the developer and alderman it opposes the proposed 457-foot-tall tower because it is just 20 feet west of their 34-story building, separated only by an alley. Unit owners said it would block their sunlight and views, add to congestion in the area, is too large for the size of the site and will drive down values of Gold Coast Galleria units."

Got a kick out of the typical NIMBY-ism... Imagine living in a 400 foot tall building and crying about another high rise...
