I believe all the cladding to the top of the setback has been completed. It shouldn't be too long before we are at full curtainwall cladding on the oval/elliptical portion of the tower.

Are you saying that Aura is topped out, and the cladding just needs to be finished?

No, he's saying that the last setback is complete and that soon cladding will start to go up on that portion of the tower which is fully rounded. Still many floors to go before being topped out.

Even though Aura is a bit of a dog, comparing it to Eureka is just plain unkind and uncalled for. Eureka is uniquely unrivaled when it comes to ugliness.

Well the massing is very similar at the least.

Hopefully the end product not so much. Lol!

Just got back from Melbourne. My first thought of Eureka when seen from a distance...wow, that thing is tall, but really quite ugly. Then when I saw it about 500 metres away along the Yarra river....yeah, fugly. But then I walked around to right in front, then to the other side...it was far less ugly from those vantage points. The top portion also changes colour. The tower grew on me. Not a beauty, but not nearly as ugly as I first believed.
The view from the top is fantastic. We had a conference reception at Eureka 89.

Mel is such a fantastic city. I love it there. Australian architects are far more willing to take chances than their Canadian counterparts. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. I can imagine the view from Eureka must be quite speccie.

Eureka Tower is amazing and I absolutely loved visiting it. Aura is in my eyes a cheap copy of Eureka Tower. Aura is tall and massive, but a disappointment in comparison to the renderings.

I actually agree with you to an extent that at least the Eureka Tower is all curtainwwall glass and not the mish-mash of spandrel, window wall and curtain wall glass that Aura is.

But, it is quite possible the top 1/3 of Aura will undoubtedly be better than Eureka.

Aura looks nothing like a copy of Eureka, cheap or otherwise. The only thing they have in common is that they are both a heaping pile of dung, although Eureka's pile is bigger and whiffier.

Really? I think Eureka is a lot uglier than Aura, the massing and crown are really awkward.
It makes a stance saying "look at me, I'm ugly!" while Aura is saying "If you look closely, I'm ugly."
