How many games (during weekdays/rush hour) are we even talking about here anyway?

34 regular season games = 17 home games, right?

Of that, surely some of them are on the weekends.

Then it's 1/3 or 1/4 of the people of ACL fridays.

exactly. We need to spread this out there to counter balance the bs.

The MLS season runs March through October. Most MLS games are on the weekend - usually Saturday night. This season, the Crew played 17 home games: 13 were on Saturday night at 7:30pm, 1 was on Sunday at 1:00pm, 3 were on Wednesday night at 7:30pm.

Those 3 games on Wednesday would be similar to Blues on the Green / Trail of Lights crowds, which anyone living in that area knows how to deal with.

Any of those Wednesday games during the time when school is out and traffic is usually (though I'm not sure of the dynamics of that particular section) lighter?

Ha! You beat me by, like, 5 minutes!

This goes a LONG way to explaining Ora Houston's waffling about the Butler Shores site. This option was percolating in her district all along.

Crew won’t locate here. All Precourt needs to do is show
Council the results of the survey they ran last year.

I have a strong feeling we blow this opportunity with MLS. Hope I’m wrong.

Agreed. Great design...but, I do not see this happening as planned without a permanent "team" leasing the 40,000-seat stadium.

It would be different (sort of) if the Expo Center site were actually on the proposed/eventual/future Green Line, but it's not. For drivers, it's near the loop (sort of), but it's still not preferable for pedestrian activity and certainly encourages more people in cars. We need to move away from that mentality.

Oh, and the Crew ownership wants it downtown (as has already been stated), so let's not throw this bone to them, please...

Really feel like two sites is the perfect recipe to end up with no sites in this situation.

Precourt wants a downtown stadium and is ready to defect from Columbus to get what he wants. I believe he really wants to improve his teams' profile by calling them the Austin Crew and get his desired downtown Stadium. But I believe something like this could at least get his attention. It seems Austin knows what's best and will push the Expo site, and like H2Q, THEY'RE NOT LISTENING!!!

Seems like a horrible idea to put an arena and stadium in such an awful and far out location. Only accessible by car and far away from the population center of Austin.

Anyways.. No money and no teams are involved so I don't see how this is even remotely possible.

Maybe they can move the Columbus NHL team to the arena😂😂😂.

And talk about an area that can't handle traffic. The expo center access is a parking lot for tiny events.
