Anyone have any insight with Portman/JE Dunn on why the office tower seems to be progressing slow? I believe they had issues with concrete slab(s) a month or two ago but it seems to have not progressed much farther.

Parking structures can be complex. I see this site every work day and it seems to be progressing at a normal rate. The initial foundation for parking took some time, but they are now working on the second level of parking. Will probably be 2-3 weeks for each level of parking and then 1-2 weeks for each of the office space floors.

The office tower has now reached street level ; 4 stories of parking below grade with 8 more above grade levels of parking to come

13 levels of parking? I don't even think Midtown Union's office tower has that much. SMH

The best thing about this project is that it will overshadow the hideous hotel.

I'm confused. Will it be 25 or 30 stories? Seems like from the article the author now saying 30 stories is getting information directly from Portman.

Portman missed an opportunity to do something much more interesting here. Instead we have a value engineered stump, which from 10th st looks like’s actually connected to the hotel. What a tragedy.

Maybe "tragedy" is a bit much.

The fact that they saved the Shutze building is good enough for me. One less blank spot adjacent to 10th Street is even better

LOL exactly

People need to calm down - you aren't going to get a masterpiece every time a new building goes up and the important part is it's another parking lot that's biting the dust hopefully downtown is next

I mean I would be genuinely worried if that 700 footer gets value engineered because there are people on this page that can't handle that mentally

Elitism is not what the market needs here. It's better than Buford Highway.

This project is great for the area and paired with Toll Bros will make it one of the densest areas in Midtown. Ya'll complain about everything.
