Seems like the only renderings popping up are for Toronto and Calgary, which are both going to have very impressive skylines in the coming years.

Doesn't seem like downtown Vancouver has changed much in the last 2 or 3 years
Hopefully more projects will be announced in the next few years. I doubt it though.
There is actually quite a bit going on all around Downtown, Downtown South seeing the biggest change. Lots of False Creek skyline impacting projects underway in there and hopefully someone skilled would provide us with a future rendering.

This should also give one some idea of the future. Taken from West End community plan, so it only includes plans for that area and not for other parts of Downtown and Yaletown. Many of those towers are in 150-220 meter ballpark.

A lot more going on than I thought!

Seems like the peninsula has filled out enough now that any new building requires the demolition of another reasonably sized building.
I wonder what will happen when the area fills out completely with mid to high rises some day far down the road. It can't be worth it to knock down a 30 story building to build a 50 story building.. Can it?

I wonder which areas bordering downtown would build up first... Perhaps they'll redevelop some of the area around Terminal Avenue.
I guess this situation is far enough down the road that it isn't really even being considered yet.

Oh, there is still plenty of room left. Vancouver in 2077.

That enormous building in the centre of the picture is pretty monolithic... Must take up the equivalent of like 12 current city blocks

This is just unrealistic. There's no way the 4th building from the right would pass the UDP.

I tried watching that show, being both set in Canada and having a sci-fi theme and all, but I finally gave up after almost two seasons. It just isn't interesting.

It's not too bad and one of the rare shows where Vancouver is really playing Vancouver and not New York or some other American city. It is entertaining show when you are a local, spotting so many locations they use.

Massing models of the proposed City Centre towers (105 m and 87 m), our first and second new tallest, if built:

Again, not at all representative of the look of the buildings, but should be fairly accurate to the impact on the skyline.

And it will completely change the skyline.

I can't wait to see that skyline come to fruition. It truly is incredible for a city of 1 million.

Well, 1.5 million and rising fast. But still that is an amazing render, and the point is Calgary does have the most futuristic skyline in Canada.

After Vancouver with Toronto quickly catching up.

(No offense meant to Calgary, there's plenty of good styles other than futuristic.)
