I'm just going to go out and say that I love it. It's one of those rare buildings that is truly so bad that it becomes fascinating more than anything else. And it's well underway so 'tis better to embrace it for what it is. This is Spain after all where architectural abominations are extraordinarily rare and the reality of this building is less representative of a trend or any other popular denial of architecture, rather it seems to just be an anomaly.

I wouldn't call it an "abomination." It's more like a trivialization. But all things considered, it falls just on the side of Okay.

Benidorm is one of the ugliest cities on earth. Most of the construction belongs to the 70's and 80's. Well, you all know the worst time for architecture. Half of the buildings in that city are eyesores. However, this building is the icing on the cake.

The 70's was actually not that bad, and produced some genuinely nice buildings. They 80s, though... Ugh.

Just no. No. No. No. No. I could go on...
This building is truely undermining all the great contemporary buildings going up in Barcelona.
There is only one thing I like about this building, and that is the thinness of it... Don't ask me why. Ok, theres another (but its a very small 'like') that the windows on the wider fronts of the building seem to be framed in white. Apart from that it is awful... What is with the 'Jewel' in the middle of the two towers? And the gold windows? Yuk.

Eww.

Benidorm is a place that I really have absolutely no interest of visiting. Other than the Costa Brava, the Spanish have pretty much ruined their entire Mediterranean coast. The Atlantic coast is still nice at least.

It's got really good quality architecture, but not typical expensive glass buildings what people uses to like but without any architectural quality, there are a lot more quality buildings than in an average city of that size, wich have architecture prizes and are published in architecture magazine, in the last picture you can see one of them, the lower building is a school wich I have seen in several magazines. Also, the Benidorm Town Hall:

The impressive beach promenade:

An elderly residence, now it has a 26 floor tower with the same design joined with a bridge.

Cultural Center by architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg, it's u/c

And some other interesting buildings people understimate because they're cheap and pure concrete:

To end, the best looking tower in Benidorm, Torre Lugano

[End of the off-topic, sorry ]

^ Agreed. But for anyone who has ever been to Benidorm it's a perfect fit for Guirilandia.
