I just noticed this yesterday. It appears that the Hampton Inn on 15th is about to start construction.

I hadn't really noticed how high this project has gotten.

Some renderings of "The Edge" that I don't think I've seen before.

Cold Beer, a Beltline cocktail bar and beer garden, will join Shake Shack and Hazel Jane’s Wine and Coffee.

Anyone know where the rail tunnel would begin? Curious, as the developer's renderings essentially remove any possibility of rail south of Edgewood Ave:

Also, you know what would be nice around here? A gym and small grocer.

There was a schematic going around a year or two ago. The tunnel would start north of the Edgewood bridge and curve under this development between the buildings. With all the first floor retail and office planned here and around studioplex, it will be hard to fit in a tunnel portal in. I suspect they will use the MLK route to go under the CSX line since it would be really difficult to build a Marta station here to connect the two lines.

The draw of the Beltline is truly phenomenal. I just hope developers begin to put just as much care and thought into creating pedestrian oriented street levels along our streets as they do along the Beltline.

By the way, did you take down your webcam for the Hanover highrise at 7th and Peachtree? I really enjoyed that, but it seems it's down now.

Whoops, looks like it was unplugged. Not sure what happened, but it is back up.

Almost time to re-adjust for the height of the building. It shouldn't be too long before the crane goes higher.

The arm of the crane is practically skimming the heads of those working on the upper floor. They seem to always raise cranes on a Sunday so they aren't interrupting the regular work schedule so I would guess this Sunday or next (if they work on Easter).

I've heard from several sources that The Emerson is basically dead. Very unfortunate for what would have been such a stunning building.

I was just wondering about Emerson. Did your sources give a reason?

Unfortunate from an architecture perspective, but honestly I'd rather see development go up at a developed/fast developing dense neighborhood instead of the car dependent, linear stretch of Peachtree between Midtown and Buckhead. Build density.

I've adjusted the camera angle so it should be good for a few more weeks. Interesting that the office portion, which seems to have been neglected for a while, is nicely-graded, so maybe they are about to start that section soon?

In other news, here's 880 W Peachtree / NCR
